before i got pregnant with this final babe, i told myself if it ever happened again i would treat it just like my first - let myself get wrapped up in the excitement and blog the whole darn thing. since this is all of my third blog post, obviously that hasn't quite happened. life happens. so much life. and at the end of each day, i'm still working two part time jobs once i get my kids in bed, so extra time to talk about life here just doesn't exist. that doesn't mean there's any less love and excitement for this third babe. if anything, there's way more - there are four of us out here this time, eagerly awaiting the chance to hold this little girl and smother her in love.
we've already reached week 30 and time is flying just as quickly as i was expecting. and even though i feel like we're all strapped into a roller coaster going 100mph, i'm constantly remembering to just enjoy this final round. to let myself stop and stash away bits and pieces of this journey.
i'm also letting myself do things like pedicures and yoga and having my house cleaned every so often and stopping for milkshakes and walking to get ice cream whenever the kids ask. because now is now and the more i let myself enjoy, the less i let stress invade my days. because stress is such a thief.
so while this pregnancy is already almost over, i've had plenty of moments bottled away in my memory of standing in my kitchen, holding my belly, being present and thinking "this is a perfect, final round". and while it's far from perfect - i could sit here and give a long list of complaints and tell you how different and more difficult this pregnancy has been than the other two - but that whining and comparison is also a thief. so i'm choosing joy and gratitude for this beautiful experience.
some pictures from the last few weeks. we (finally!) got chickens and they're the greatest little things. although they have led me to farm hunting... because if you give a girl 8 chicks...she's going to need a barn, goat, pony and definitely a llama. right?!
hopefully i'll get back here for at least one more post before this little girl shows up. our birth kit is here but we haven't made much progress on her nursery. good thing babies only need diapers, boobs and love those first couple months :)
